Life Transitions...

I have exactly 9 hours 6 mins before my college reopens and my 2nd semester of M.Com kick starts.. Last year exactly at this time, I had clients leaving for their vacations to different exotic destinations which I had planned for them.. Never did I imagine then that I would quit my job and pick up the books again..

It all seems so surreal now, even perhaps a distant dream that I worked for a whole year before I had enough of the corporate sector.. Even though I had a fun job of crafting people's dream vacations and a decent salary,  my mind was never at peace. I always wanted to finish my masters before I started building my career and the thought kept bothering me.. I had got my taste of the "work culture", so I stepped back to being a student and frankly, it was the best decision I ever made..

For all you final year students who are confused as to what to do next- I'd say take a year off.. Do what you love, explore your options, if you're interested then get some corporate experience and jump back into studies... Trust me, it helps a LOT... It helps you understand life which is not monitored by the educational system (which you've been part of  for 16 years at least). Also, you get to loaf around a li'l *Grins like a maniac*

And yes, once you get back to studying after a break you will doubt yourself if you'll be able to sit through lectures and write exams again and yes, I did too... Frankly, assignment submission deadlines or exam stress never got to me because in the past one year I had been put through such stressful situations which would even make onions cry!! And this is coming from a girl who would start panicking when the submission dates were weeks away..

Sometimes I think about what would have happened to me if I had stuck on to that cozy job of mine.. For starters, I wouldn't have come back to asking pocket money from dad every week and I would have definitely not taken the chance of quitting if I would have stayed another year there.. coz the cons would have been surely higher then..

Not to mention, I would have missed out on meeting the most interesting group of people.. who, I call "my friends".  Its not everyday you meet a die-hard foodie who would make you eat your own words, friends who teach concepts in 5 mins for which a teacher cannot clarify even after lecturing for hours, a person who loves gadgets as much as you do and more and is literally your guide to all the latest tech news, super humans who study in the day and work after hours making you think of how inefficient and nocturnal beings who sleep the mornings away and party at night (I simply like to call them Goobays :P) . So, go ahead people, take a break, enjoy all you can for a short time coz it's all about the timing... Take the call when it feels right..
